Trade terms
What to expect before you reserve a production run.
Your accepted quote and approved sample define the product. These general terms explain the process around them; the quote controls if a project needs different terms.
Last updated August 20, 2026Quotes and scope
A quote states the product specification, quantity, included branding, packaging, production window, delivery plan, price, and exclusions. Unless the quote says otherwise, it is valid for 15 days and may be revised when material availability, freight, artwork, or scope changes.
Sample and approval
A paid physical sample is required before a production run. You approve dimensions, material, finish, branding placement, packaging, and acceptable natural variation in writing. The approved sample and written specification become the production standard.
The flagship sample is $395 plus shipping. $150 is credited to the first accepted order of at least 100 units. Development work and samples are otherwise nonrefundable once work begins.
Payment and scheduling
A 50% deposit reserves material and production time. The remaining balance is due before the run is released for delivery or received into a fulfillment program. A planning window is not reserved until the deposit and required approvals are complete.
Changes and cancellations
Changes after sample approval may require a new sample, price, or production date. If you cancel after material, packaging, or production work has been committed, those completed and nonrecoverable costs are due. Your quote identifies any project-specific cancellation terms.
Delivery and fulfillment
Freight, liftgate service, appointments, storage, pick-and-pack, and parcel postage are included only when listed in the quote. Inspect delivered cartons promptly and report a shortage, visible damage, or suspected defect with clear photographs and quantities so the claim can be evaluated.
Natural material and tolerances
Wood varies in grain, figure, and tone. These natural differences are not defects when they fall within the approved sample and written standard. Functional dimensions and any project-specific tolerances are stated in the product specification.
Origin and marketing claims
Country-of-origin wording is approved per SKU after its materials and manufacturing steps are documented. Do not add or change a Made in USA or other origin claim on MistriMade-produced goods without written confirmation for that specific product.
Custom runs and remedies
Approved custom production is not returnable because it is made for your specification. Confirmed defects, shortages, and carrier damage are handled under the remedy and claim terms in the quote. We may request photographs, measurements, packaging, or a sample unit before approving a remake, replacement, credit, or other remedy.
